Pastor Tony Zheng
Hello, my name is Tony Zheng. I am originally from China. Before coming to Canada, I worked in international trade and translation and served in an urban church. Through my work and ministry, I had many opportunities to interact with people from different countries, cultures, and worldviews. Through these experiences, God gave me a deep burden for people who are searching for identity, hope, and meaning apart from the only true God.
I completed both my B.Th. and M.Div. at the Canadian Reformed Theological Seminary in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I love preaching sermons that connect Scripture to everyday life, showing how the gospel speaks not only to personal suffering and guilt but also to the confusion and pressures of modern culture.
As I begin my ministry with Lighthouse, I am excited about the opportunities to build relationships with people from diverse backgrounds, thoughtfully engage with the questions and challenges of our secular age, disciple believers in their faith, and share the good news of Jesus Christ with those who have never truly heard it. My desire is to help people discover that true freedom, purpose, and joy are found not in living for ourselves, but under the gracious rule of Jesus Christ, our King and Saviour, who alone can truly transform lives.
My wife and I are blessed with three children, who keep our lives joyful, loud, and adventurous! Outside of ministry, I enjoy playing basketball, having deep conversations over coffee, and connecting with people from different backgrounds.
